You’re invited to join Dale Carter (Transition Aging Parents) and Matt Gurwell (Keeping Us Safe) for a 30 minute discussion about how to help your aging loved one recognize when it’s time to “retire” from driving and how to help him/her make that transition. Matt will share why he believes it is important to “limit driving, not living.”
Former Highway Patrol officer Matt Gurwell shares how families can confront the complicated issue of age-related diminished driving skills. Matt (creator of the “Beyond Driving with Dignity” professional certification program) will share tips on how to have ‘the talk’, and how to know when aging parent should ‘retire’ to the passenger seat.
We’ll discuss the importance of respecting a parent’s dignity and their need for independence, and also how to find transportation alternatives in your parent’s community.
